I bought one of these to give me 5.1 digital output from my PC to my decoder. Nowhere on any of the documentation for this product does it tell you that the digital output is only capable of outputting 2-channel stereo, which my PC already does. It only outputs 5.1 from the analogue outputs which I already have at the back of my PC.
The only way this is ever going to come in useful for me is if I ever use up all my USB ports and need an oversized, overpriced USB hub. It might come in useful if I get a laptop, except that laptops are all now being sold with Vista, which this device does not support.
Pointless.
This is totally useless to me and I'm glad I didn't pay a lot of money for it.

I'm running Windows XP, and having read the reviews for this article I decided to purchase it. It does everything it says on the box, and sounds amazing. One of the best things I've ever bought for my computer, and the price is amazing.

Toshiba still sells this product even though it does not support Microsoft Vista. What a joke. This is a waste of money and good hardware. Toshiba needs to get their act together. DON'T BUY THIS if you have Vista.

Using Windows XP, this gadget works perfectly. I've had no problems with any of the drivers, software or utilities that are supplied with the product. The 4-port USB hub supplies power to connected devices even when the PC is off and the remote control can be used with other applications if you so wish. Among the included software utilities are Creative MediaSource (Go!, Audio Coverter, Organiser, Player), plus Smart Recorder, SoundFont Bank Manager, Wave Studio and other utilities.
For the price, and the fact that my laptop now has just one cable to connect my printer, external hard drives, network, DTV adaptor and surround sound, this is a bargain!

Great Idea in principle and product looks good but the driver is not Vista Compatible and Toshiba do not support the driver upgrade to Vista. For those with a computer degree there are workarounds but for "normal" users like me pointless product... returning to vendor.
