great, but... April 27, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm wondering why people would demand an abandoned format... Toshiba had announced it would no longer develop or manufacture HD DVD players, it means there will be absolutely no new-released HD-DVDs any more!
Anyway, I'm gonna cancel mine.( I still gave it 5 stars, since it's really an awesome machine)

Im not sure what the hell Amazon is playing at with my order, ordered on 31st March and sill 20th April no DVD player. You are breaking rules and will loose my custom in the future as i was going to order a PS3 from you. But bak to the EP30, my friend has one and wow this shines over blueray. What are you thinking to stop making this toshiba. I think they should bring it back and keep both formats. Hope you get your sooner than me. At 59.99 and 2 films what a steel.
A steal at my price 59.99 April 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Got one this week through Amazon, compulsive buy when shopping on line after to many bottles of vino not recommended, great machine, yes slightly slow on loading discs, but the wait is worth it.The quality to die for, excellent, the sound quality is also fab.I was looking for a stop gap, until the price of blu-ray disc came down,I have already got 2 blu-ray players[ps3].Have now bought HD discs, 4 for the price of 1 blu-ray disc through Amazon. Please do buy this player its great value.
It's Gone Up Again April 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well that's decided it for me. Was gonna buy one even though it will be obselete soon. But the further price hike definitely means I won't see my free dvds. Will just wait now till BluRay comes down in price and to be honest if film is good normal dvd is fine.
So good I bought two April 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this just before Toshiba announced that they were no longer supporting the HD DVD format. Shame really as I find this player to be excellent. Even though you'll soon be unable to get new HD DVD titles there's enough of them out there to enjoy the format. It's the cheapest way to watch hi def on a standalone machine. It improves the picture quality of your existing standard definition dvds thanks to the HDMI connection with you HD TV. You'll find this player priced competitively with upscaling dvd players and for this alone it's worth buying. I was so impressed by this next generation technology that I also bought one for my parents. They adore Planet Earth HD DVD.
Best of all (for me anyway) I recently bought Corel Videostudio 11.5 PLUS (35 on Amazon) and have been able to burn about 30 mins of HDV footage onto a bog standard DVD-R (about 30p each). The picture quality will blow you away. Anyone with a Hi Def video camera should purchase the software and this HD DVD player to truly make the most of your home movie video footage and show it off in glorious 1080p.
