Perfect! January 6, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Toshiba 32XV555DB- 32" Widescreen 1080p HD Ready LCD TV With Freeview I am very impressed with this TV. This is the first TV I have ever bought (Im 17). I am mainly using it for my Xbox and when it is set to 1080p it is amazing :D and that wasnt even in the TV's gaming mode. For watching movies i suggest the movie option as it really smoothes it out.
I would also suggest playing around the the settings on the modes because it really does help the picture.
Only one thing I would knock it on is the sound. It sometimes sounds like something is covering the speakers but again play around with it.
Overall very pleased. I cant even tell the difference with this and my Dads Series 6 Samsung 40". If you are looking for a 32" full HD then this is what you should buy.
Bargain January 4, 2009 Toshiba 32XV555DB- 32" Widescreen 1080p HD Ready LCD TV With Freeview _ Bought this to go with my new Xbox Xmas pressie - plays 'Burn Out' as good as my son's cinema size projector - actually because it's 32 not around 120 the definition is better(smaller pixels), sound is superb even from it's own speakers - Pearl Harbour has sound bouncing around the room, unbelievably better than my old Tevion 27". Three HDMI inputs so no problems connecting DVD and PVR. Only complaint is the Freeview guide doesn't seem to have a transparency setting so blocks out the screen otherwise would have been 5 stars. Bought 32" because 37" wouldn't quite fit but I'm really pleased I did as size is just right for room - app 16' x 14' - and at around 420 it's a bargain - the equivalent Panasonic was nearly 200 more and the only real benefit was the 100hz capability.
Good value, but could be better January 2, 2009 First impressions, its BIG! I am using as a replacement for my 19" PC screen. I figured it worked out cheaper for buy a big lcd tv than a pc screen, even if I dont get the higer res on pc screens. I have connected my PC to the Toshiba using a DVI-HDMI cable. I cant seem to use the 1920x1080 res as the frequency supported by the Toshiba is not supported by my graphics card, so need to look for a new graphics card.
With regards to the built in Freeview, its quite basic and not the best EPG from a usability point of view. Also, the EPG and channel switching in general is quite slow (compared to the 3 yr old Sony in my living room).
The colours seem better than some of the Samsung screens I have seen, but still not perfect. Thought you can adjust this.. too much of a fiddle for my liking.

Fantastic Full HD TV December 10, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had the tv for two weeks now & I am thoroughly happy with it. I have it hooked up to my PS3 & I use my laptop on it aswell. Watched Blu Ray Sin City on it & it looked fantastic. The PS3 games look stunning & I haven't needed to turn the volume up over 1/4 of it's capacity yet (my room ain't huge) & the sound's good. I'd recommend this FULL HD TV to anyone, it's not too heavy & the set surrounding the screen is pretty slimline. I don't know what other HDTVs are like, but this 1080p tv for under 450 is an absolute bargain! I just can't wait until I get my surround sound for it!Toshiba 32XV555DB- 32" Widescreen 1080p HD Ready LCD TV With Freeview
