| Customer Reviews:
great machine especially for the price December 8, 2008 have only been using the machine for a week but so far no problems. used the hack advised by another reviewer for region 0 - very easy and worked first time! (thank you!) picture's great, no set up procedure. agreed, the tray is flimsy but if you stick to using the remote for loading and unloading this shouldn't be a problem at all. can't see why anyone would complain about this machine especially at the price.
WARNING!!! December 6, 2008 2 out of 16 found this review helpful
I bought this product after reading how it is a superb dvd player and most importantly for me, plays region 1 dvds.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE!!!!
After recieving this item, I immediately tried out region 1 dvds and it wouln't exceot them. If this is the reason as to why you wish to purchase this object, DO NOT. Am in the middle of returning this item, so would recomend you purchase an alternate item.
Dont play many downloads December 3, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bought this for the bedroom to play downloaded movies, dissappointed as it only plays a few movies and some dont have any audio. All the DVD's i have downloaded play on my player in the lounge so i know they are ok.
Great DVD player at a bargin price October 25, 2008 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
Was looking for a DVD player to replace a nasty cheapo Currys one that refused to play burnt DVD's, ended up buying this Tosh SD270 and i have to say its a great little player.
As i haven't yet succumbed to the "posh telly" influences on the high street the lack of HDMI port didn't affect my decision, it has component connections if and when i do require something to upscale to 720p/1080i (don't worry, i don't really understand that last bit either)
To get this machine to perform as a multi region player simply follow the following instructions
The Hack Procedure: - Power On - Open Tray - Press 9879 0 (0 stands for Multiregion, you may press buttons 1 to 6 to choose a specific region) - A Message appears stating that "The Reg.No was changed to: [insert whatever region (0-6) you selected here]"
That's all, now you can watch every DVD you please... :)
All in all, for 30Toshiba SD280E - DVD Player ish delivered within 3 days, i refuse to grumble, it looks nice, has played everything i've tried including some DivX stuff burnt straight from my PC, and all in all i'm a very happy bunny
Now if someone could help me find a 32" LCD for around 100 i'll be even happier
Avoid if possible October 25, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought mine less than a year ago..fine while it worked but has now packed in..it started freezing during playback and would not respond to the remote control or front control buttons and then just stopped accepting all discs completely..maybe I was just unlucky with mine but all future buyers-you have been warned.
